Woodford Green, Essex, £130k plus

A garden design had already been produced for our client and they asked us to provide a quote for the landscape / build. The design was changed following a full site survey of the level and changes were made for practicality. We are absolutely thrilled with the result and, as evidenced from the images, the garden design is perfect for entertaining all year round.

There are two clearly defined areas in this garden. On the first level, there is an outdoor kitchen, dining table and play area for the children; whilst the lower level serves as a relaxing chill out zone for drinks, hot-tub entertainment and a bathroom, shower and toilet facilities.

The original garden was laid to softwood timber decking and our landscaping team had limited access to the garden. As a result, it was a challenge to undertake the reduce dig and clear the garden. Once cleared, we were able to assess the levels.

425 breeze blocks were laid with steel rods to separate the two sections; to retain the top half and to build a 900mm wall for safety purposes.  We used composite for the top of the walls to match the lower decking (PGR). Porcelain from London Stone was laid to the top together with a section of AstroTurf for the children.

The bespoke outbuilding, made from Cedar, was built by our joiners Camen and Toby and included a purpose-built bathroom. Warren, our head of garden lighting design and electrical installation, ensured the outbuilding and composite steps had strip lighting underneath.

The pergola from Burton Living covers a kitchen from Grillo which will be a hive of activity throughout the Summer. It includes a fridge and large with lots of seating and storage. All other furniture was supplied by Maze Living.
