Two and half years planning and three months to build. This garden renovation was a massive team effort with many people and trades involved and the result is stunning. Our clients arranged a meeting on site prior to the new property being built but the design for the house was already done so we had to ensure that the design for the grounds, both front and back, was as wow as the property itself.

There was to be no swimming pool, no outdoor kitchen and no sauna on this project; it was to serve as a garden renovation that went back to basics with paving, turf and lots and lots of planting. As always, the key objective was to create an incredible outdoor garden space that reflected tranquil elegance. After discussions about a requirement for running water, we came up with the idea of using a water-rill which would be the main feature of the garden.

Within the garden is a main patio, a walkway through the Magnolia umbrella trees, a morning garden, a firepit and a glasshouse. The paving is a natural stone whilst brick Cotswold clay pavers were used to edge the gravel pathways and match the brickwork of the house. Both were purchased from London Stone.

The planting colour scheme is green, white and purple, which includes all hedging, flowering trees, shrubs and perennials. During the summer months the amazing highlights will be 83 Hydrangea Strong Annabelle’s, the Alliums, the Delphiniums and the Gaura.

A full lighting, irrigation and sound system has been installed throughout the grounds which will keep all the borders and turf looking at its best and the garden comes to life in the evening with beautiful lighting and music playing throughout.

For the front driveway we used stabilising grids and gravel and formal borders and planted the area with spiral Yew trees, low hedging and again lots of gorgeous Hydrangeas.
