Wickham Bishops, Maldon, Essex – £90k plus
For this garden design, the clients gave us free reign regarding how best to optimise the available space. The landscaping included separate rooms as seating areas and utilised different materials that naturally led up to each space.
Main features:
- Porcelain Paving
- Plank Porcelain Paving
- Clay Pavers
- Corten Edging
- Water Feature
- Pergola
- Lighting
- Planting
The main patio, which was slightly sunken, led up to a step and through Magnolia Umbrella Trees. As this garden received a high amount of sunshine each day, we created a pergola area, to offer protection and some shade. We installed a metal pergola from White Stores that was louvered which meant that the roof could be opened or closed really easily.
The client planned to have an outdoor kitchen fitted at a later date, so we installed a clay paver walkway from London Stone that led to an area used, in the interim, for basketball and table tennis.
The planting installed was low maintenance, with colourful perennials for lots of summer colour. The lighting was really important in this garden as the clients loved to entertain. Uplighters on all trees were added, including a colour changing system on the main Pine tree, as well as festoon lighting in the rear seating area.
Client feedback:
I am so grateful for the team at The Essex Garden Company for transforming our garden. The whole team from design, project management, landscaping, lighting and planting teams were exceptionally professional, polite and courteous. The before and after care by Alex and Ben was excellent and I can’t recommend the team highly enough.
