Our brief was to create a ‘Palm Springs’ minimalistic and low maintenance garden which was to include a pergola and an outbuilding.

Our clients wanted to utilise the sun positioning in this garden as they had inherited a patio that is predominantly shade, with the sun at the back of the garden. This area housed sheds and a wall that separated the main garden with a utility area.

We always like creating ‘rooms’ within a garden and the new design (which retained the main patio) had a journey leading down both sides of the garden. This lead to another patio that provided additional seating and an outbuilding and pergola.

The paving is Porcelain from @lowerbarnfarm, the pergola is from @whitestores and the outbuilding is from @Greenretreats.

The previous walls and raised planters were originally painted in a dark grey colour and we lightened them up with cream to match the patio which really improves the finished look. The client also requested that a full irrigation system was set up to water the turf and the borders, which was undertaken by the team from LAS Creations.

Our awesome lighting design team, Warren and Dave, worked their usual magic on the lighting and electrics and installed uplighters for the plants, bollards for the pathways and a data cable and power for the outbuilding.

The planting is a mixture of gravel garden grasses and ornamental balls with the borders containing a mixture of shrubs and perennials.
