This project has been one of our favourite garden design and builds! We received a call from our clients after being underwhelmed by a garden design that had already been produced by a previous company.

They previously had a rotted timber decking platform which was dangerous and not fit purpose and wanted the garden to be transformed into a haven for them and their two children with an emphasis on ‘outdoor living.’

We wanted to create a journey through the garden with various walkways to make their way down to the lower section. We designed a main patio area in porcelain (Lower Barn Farm) outside the bi-fold doors with steps down to the lawn. A composite deck walkway was created through to the pergola, with additional steps down to the hot-tub and the sauna.

In order to break up the areas we built raised planters that were cladded and coped in porcelain paving to match the upper patio. The entertaining area was designed in Millboard composite decking (PGR) to contrast materials. By doing this we were able to partially sink the hot-tub with removable boards to access the service panels.

A sauna from Better Living Outdoors was built on-site and our clients haven’t stopped using it! The pergola with electric roof and screens was purchased from Suns Lifestyle and creates a great area to sit under all year round. It also comes with pull down screens and lighting. The upper entertaining area is secured by glass balustrades from (FOL Design)

The rest of the garden has sweeping borders, full of beautiful planting for year round interest and an irrigation system from Landscape Plus. Lighting, as always, so important installed to highlight all areas when the sun goes down.
